Medical Oncologist

Dr Roy is an accredited Medical Oncologist at the Southern Oncology of South Australia, Flinders Private Hospital and Flinders Centre for innovation in Cancer, Flinders medical Centre. He completed his specialist training in Medical Oncology at tertiary cancer care centres in Adelaide, South Australia. This was followed by a Clinical Research Fellowship at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London where he specialised further in the management of Gastro-intestinal malignancies. Dr Roy has a strong research focus in his current clinical practice and is involved in various clinical and translational research projects within the clinical trials unit at the Dept. of Medical Oncology at the Flinders Centre for innovation in Cancer. He has affiliation with several high profile research groups including the Australian Gastro-Intestinal Trials Group (AGITG) and the ANZ Melanoma Trials Group (ANZMTG). He has been an author on several peer reviewed publications and has published several abstracts in conferences. He has also been named as an investigator on a number of grants relating to medical oncology clinical trials and principal investigator in several clinical trials. He is appointed as a senior clinical lecturer within the faculty of health sciences, Flinders University and is a clinical tutor to medical oncology advanced trainees and medical students. His clinical interests include management of gastrointestinal, hepato-pancreatic, neuro-endocrine, melanoma and lung malignancies.
